Let me tell you a story about one of my dreams. I see myself as an athlete, though have never been in a race or competition – I’m allowed to dream, we all are 😊. I have tried most sports, and do think if I did extreme sports, moving beyond watching I’d be excellent in real life as in my imagination 🙈
When dextersimon.com announced an extreme challenge I said yes. It required managing on very little sleep for 36 hours, because for 12 of those hours we had to get on the bike and ride for an hour, cool down with stretches, eat a micro meal, rest aka mini sleep, and get back on the bike. He calls this 3x3x36, and the first 3 sets are not that bad, but as you progress, the mental and physical challenges to stay the course kick in. I’ve shared a post on the last 45 mins after that ride, and you can see how much of a mental challenge this is.🚴♀️🕑
Endurance is what we get when we decide to commit to challenging self to finish what is started. When you align your actions with your surroundings and pace yourself to do what you have to do, you can stay the course and complete your mission.
Marathons are a good analogy of the way life’s challenges should be tackled. You have to pace yourself, do what you can do and keep moving, adding and progressing in all areas of your life. In business there are rarely continuous big wins, success come with the achievement of smaller goals continuously met.
Perseverance, persistence and sweat are all components of committing to and working through challenges – this is endurance.
Take on a challenge to improve your health and wellbeing – pace yourself and win your next challenge! To know more about what’s available with online health training check out http://www.dextersimon.com
